JUNE 2008 - NPC sponsors delivery of five pianos for VCE student's exciting piano project.
Last month Network Piano Carriers was delighted to sponsor Dandenong Secondary College student Emily Wilhelms in the delivery of five pianos for her Year 11 Studio Art project.
Five generous people donated their pianos to Emily's project after she advertised for them in the local paper. Network Piano Carriers was happy to arrange the collection and delivery of the pianos as we thought Emilýs project was a fantastic way of furthering piano education and culture. Emily's Art Coordinator Joanne Lewis first approched Network Piano Carriers with the idea and worked with us to ensure the delivery requirements for all involved were efficiently organised.
With a strong interest in art and music, Emily wanted to make her Studio Art project meaningful and somewhat different. She choose to focus the project on her Grandmother, who taught her how to play to piano from an early age. "The reason for having my grandmother as my theme for my studio art was because she was a great role model to me and her encouragement and support was awesome".
Emily intends to paint one of the piano's delivered by Network Piano Carriers as a mural of her Grandmother and use the other piano's parts to create a sculptural piece.
"I was my grandmother's first grandchild, she would look after me whenever she got the chance. as I grew older I became more fond of her but sadly she passed away from cancer when I was 10. In between the ages of 5 and 8 I was attending piano lessons. She played piano herself so almost everytime that I went over to her house she encouraged me to play piano, sometimes we would even play a duet ."
Network Piano Carriers wishes Emily all the best with her creative piano project.
Our company is committed to making a difference in music and piano education, if you would like to discuss any sponsorship ideas or events please call Jessica Merlo on 9580 7788.
